Robin
is a respected musician and accomplished songwriter brazenly paving the
road with a new genre of music called "urban folk." Defined as a co-mingling of contemporary, pop, jazz, folk and world music,
"urban folk" is as much about the music as it is the musician.
Robin
brings to the Global Heart Dallas this unique sound with a deep spiritual
message. Much of our congregational music and solos are written by Robin
and the music team. In a day when nothing is 'sacred' everything is sacred with the music at the Global Heart.
Other
band members include: David
White, Cynthia Stuart, and Cornell Kinderknecht.
Mirna Lopez has been in the New Thought community for the last 4 years. She is originally from Mexico, City and has been in the United States for the last 10 years. She is bilingual and is pursuing her education in the field of Child Development. She is planning to become a play therapist in the near future.
Mirna's passion is working with children knowing they have so much to teach her about the joy and beauty of life. She was a preschool teacher at the Center for Spiritual Living for 3 years. Mirna believes that Religious Science has changed her life in so many positive ways. It has provided her with tools and knowledge that have led her to live a better life each and everyday.
As Assistant Chair to the Board she brings enthusiasm and a willingness to learn the business of the church. As Volunteer Coordinator she helps keep Sunday mornings on track and shows love and appreciation to each and every person.
Fran has been in Religious Science for 18 years. Her path in New Thought began in Unity. Her path to the Global Heart started when she became Rev. Robert's assistant at CSL-Dallas five years ago. Her professional work as a collateral analyst with a bank gives her the perfect background for data processing and keeping files and folders intact.
As Secretary to the Board of The Global Heart Fran is a valuable asset to our church.
Fran and her husband Jeff live in Mesquite, he is a native Dallasite and she has lived in the area for 28 years.
Diane received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Texas Tech University in 1974. Her major was in Graphic Arts with a minor in Marketing and Mass Communications and worked in the field of Graphic arts for 25 years. Presently she does some freelance work in graphic arts. Her background in art serves the church well as director of Dallas Arts Support (see programs).
In 2001 Diane went back to school to become a licensed Massage Therapist and continues to take advanced training in that field. She has worked as an independent massage therapist since December that year. Much of her career focus has been with Medical Massage, and on-site chair massage. Diane loves people and communicates with ease and that makes her perfect for the Outreach position on our board.
The financial health and responsibility of a church requires the consciousness of abundance.
As the Minister of Finance to the board of the Global Heart Dallas, Melanie brings that consciousness. Although she does not have formal training as a CPA, her personal financial affairs and responsibilities give her a grounded base to take the lead with church finances. She is a fiscally responsible person with experience in managing money and has an eye for the details.
Melanie not only brings the consciousness of abundance to our church but as demo specialist for Whole Foods she brings an easy to know personality and a friendly and warm greeting to strangers. As our church grows and prospers we can count on Mel to keep everything on track.
Carole earned her UCLS Practitioner License at the Center for Spiritual Living in Dallas in 2000, and she continued to serve that community for close to five years. During that time she also served as the President of the Board of Trustees at that church.
In November of 2007, Carole renewed her license through the Global Heart Dallas. As part of the licensed practitioner team, Carole does spiritual mind treatments, provides private spiritual counseling, leads the Global Heart Book Club, and any other services needed to support spiritual growth of the Global Heart Dallas.
We believe in God, the living Spirit
Almighty; one, indestructible, absolute, and self-existent Cause. This One
manifests Itself in and through all creation, but is not absorbed by Its
creation. The manifest universe is the body of God; it is the logical and
necessary outcome of the infinite self-knowingness of God.
We believe in the incarnation of the
Spirit in US, and that all PEOPLE are incarnations of the One Spirit. We
believe in the externality, the immortality, and the continuity of the
individual soul, forever and ever expanding. We believe that HEAVEN is within
US, and that we experience IT to the degree that we become conscious of It. We
believe the ultimate goal of life to be a complete emancipation from all
discord of every nature, and that this goal is sure to be attained by all.
We believe in the unity of all life,
and that the highest God and the innermost God is one God. We believe that God
is personal to all who feel this indwelling Presence. We believe in the direct
revelation of Truth through our intuitive and spiritual nature, and that ANYONE
may become a revealer of Truth who lives in close contact with the indwelling
God.
We believe that the Universal Spirit,
which is God, operates through a Universal Mind, which is the Law of God; and
that we are surrounded by this Creative Mind which receives the direct impress
of our thought and acts upon it. We believe in the healing of the sick through
the power of this Mind. We believe in the control of conditions through the
power of this Mind. We believe in the eternal Goodness, the eternal
Loving-kindness, and the eternal Givingness of Life to all. We believe in our
own soul, our own spirit, and our own destiny; for we understand that OUR LIFE
is God.
-Dr. Ernest Homes
...we envision the emergence of the
Global Heart to balance and guide the further evolution of humanity. We see a
world free of homelessness, violence, war, hunger, separation and
disenfranchisement.
We see a world in which there is
generous and continuous sharing of heart and resources. . .a world in which
forgiveness, whether for errors, injustices, or debts, is the norm. . .a world
in which borders are irrelevant. . .a world which has renewed its emphasis on
beauty, nature and love through a resurgence of creativity, art, and
aesthetics. . .a world in which fellowship prospers and connects through the
guidance of spiritual wisdom and experience. . .a world in which we live and
grow as One Human Family.
The spiritual community of
"United Centers for Spiritual Living" is united and actuated by this
compelling vision of a healthy world — a world experiencing Global Heart — and
is ardently committed to bringing this vision forth through its ministries and
its transformative teaching.
We envision "UCSL" as a
bridge across the illness and illusion of separation thereby dynamically
empowering the vision of Global Heart.
"UCSL" is a
global community of people pervasively caring for and about each other and the
entire human family, thereby bringing the gift of active compassion to the
world. Our local churches and communities become "points of inspiration
and influence" effectively advancing the vision of Global Heart.
